Enabling ActiveX in Microsoft Internet Explorer

NOTE: Enabling ActiveX may pose a security risk. If your computer is inside an organizational firewall, consult your network administrator.

To install and use the Webex client software with the Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) Web browser, you will need ActiveX enabled. ActiveX is a feature in IE to enable you to add software components to your browser. When IE was first installed on your computer, ActiveX was automatically enabled. Therefore, you will need to follow this procedure only if your IE settings were customized after the browser was installed on your computer.

Internet Explorer 5, 6 or 7

bulletFrom the browser menu, click Tools / Internet Options
bulletClick on the Security Tab
bulletSelect the globe icon representing the Internet Zone
bulletClick Custom Level
bulletScroll down to the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section
bulletUnder Download Signed ActiveX Controls, select Prompt
bulletUnder Download Unsigned ActiveX Controls, select Prompt
bulletUnder Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins select Enable
bulletUnder Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting select Enable
bulletClick OK to close the Security Settings window (If prompted to verify that you want to change the security settings for this zone click Yes)
bulletClick OK to close the Internet Options window
bulletClose and Restart your browser

If you are still having issues viewing the session, downloading Mozilla by Firefox may resolve the issue.  Mozilla utilizes Java instead of ActiveX to connect to these sessions.
