Strobe XP 200 Installation

Installation Instructions for DOCUMENT AND Insurance Card Scanner (STROBE XP200)

	DO NOT INSTALL THE Strobe XP200 CD SOFTWARE PROVIDED ON CD. Download the drivers from http://www.visioneer.com save it on the desktop and run the XP200.exe to install the latest drivers and software.
	During the installation process a window will prompt to connect the Strobe XP200 scanner using USB cable and power adapter provided.
	When you see the Connect Scanner window, do NOT click finish. Leave the window open and proceed to the next section, “connect and calibrate the scanner”.
	The computer should recognize the USB port connection and automatically configure its driver and software to run the scanner properly. A calibration window opens so you can calibrate the scanner. When the calibration completes successfully remove the calibration paper, click Finish on the Connect Scanner window and restart your computer.
	To create a handshake between Strobe XP200 Scanner and Compulink software:

Search for any file name with extension of .ds in the windows search utility. (use “*.ds” without the quotation marks for the file name in the search window.) The path for the “device Specific” file should usually show as one of the following:

Please enter exactly as it reflects in your system.

For Win 9X or XP: C:\WINDOWS\twain_32\StrobeXp\Twain_32.ds

For Win 2K or XP upgrades: C:\WINNT\twain_32\StrobeXp\Twain_32.ds

Enter the path EXACTLY to the workstation setup field: (Ins. Card Twain Device and Document Twain Device) in the utility menu (see below)

To scan a business card and Document within the Compulink program.

	For Insurance cards, open the patient demographics screen then click on Insurance (please be sure and select an insurance company or add one if not present), under the insurance screen menu click on Card then click on scan to scan the card’s front and back image in the spaces provided.
	For Document Advantage, open the patient demographics screen then click on Document. The document advantage window launches click on the select button to select Visioneer Scan manager and click Add on the menu bar to open Scan Manager settings.
	Compulink recommends 100 or 200 dpi, Grayscale with Auto trim. For dark backgrounds or black and white text, the brightness bar can be used for enhancing the scanned image. Only select higher resolutions when the absolutely necessary.
