Remote Scanning issue with HP 7400 Series Scanner in a WAN

Problem:

Users can not change the shared scanner

 

Solution:

use regedt32 at server console

stop at the Hewlett-Packard key

click on security/permissions on toolbar

give authenticated users full access to key and sub keys

Other problems:

bulletIf running Active Directory, the DNS server should be pointed to the IP address of the server.
bulletThe remote software should only be installed on the Terminal server and not the rest of the options.
