Label Printers – We are currently selling two types of label printers: Direct Thermal Printer and Thermal Transfer Printer. a. Direct Thermal PrintersDirect thermal printers are ideal for the small to medium practice who prints an average number of patient mailing labels, patient bar code labels and inventory stock labels. This type of printer uses a label coated with chemicals. The printer head applies heat to transfer characters to the label. Direct thermal printers do not require ink or ribbons and are small in profile. They require special labels. Contact Compulink Sales for information about direct thermal printers.
Labels for our Direct Thermal printers
NOTE: Some offices prefer to design their own label formats. Contact Compulink Sales for information about custom programming. We are currently offering the DYMO LW400 (www.dymo.com). This printer is able to use either USB or SERIAL connection to hook up to any PCs. Both DYMO 315 and DYMO 330 are acceptable. They are cheaper, but they will support ONLY USB connection. All DYMO 300 series should be able to support these label, but we can only guarantee that DYMO 400 will work with these labels. If our clients purchase a printer directly from us, they will receive either a roll of Address Label (Part No. 30252) or a roll of Price Tag Label (Part No. 30373) within the printer box. Client can always purchase this printer directly. If purchased through Compulink, free installation support, 30-day replacement warranty and Hardware/software warranty is available. NOTE: Compulink no longer supports Seiko label printers. b. Thermal transfer printers are recommended for the large practice who prints a high volume of inventory labels. This type of printer produces a high quality label using heat and ink ribbon. Thermal transfer printers are faster, more expensive than direct thermal printers and are larger profile. They use less expensive labels than direct thermal printers and are used almost exclusively for printing inventory stock labels. This printer will not work under WAN configuration due to the limitation of serial communication over a WAN connection unless the client is using Windows 2003 server with Windows XP Pro client. Contact Compulink Sales for information about thermal transfer printers. This style of printer requires a cross over serial cable (Null Modem Cable) that is provided if the printer is purchased through Compulink. Labels supported with our Thermal Transfer printers
NOTE: Some offices prefer to design their own label formats. Contact Compulink Sales for information about custom programming. We are currently selling Datamax E4203 from Archcrown (www.archcrown.com). This printer will require a cross over serial cable (NULL MODEM CABLE). It will NOT work with parallel cables (normal printer cable) in our software. If purchased from Compulink, the proper cable is provided. They will require a cross over serial cable if they purchase a printer from an outside source. If purchased through Compulink, free installation support, 30-day replacement warranty and Hardware/software warranty is available. 2. Barcode Reader: We are currently selling two types of barcode readers: tethered readers, and cordless barcode readers. Bar Code ScannersBar Code Scanners are an efficient tool for the point of sale office environment. Bar Code Scanners are used to locate inventory stock items using an Advantage generated bar code or a UPC label, to search for patient accounts by bar coded chart label, to post stock material items to the patient's ledger and to perform inventory audit. Print Label commands in patient Demographics and Inventory generate Interleave 2 of 5 style bar code labels. Bar code scanners used with the Advantage program must be able to read this label format. Bar Code Scanners may be categorized into two groups, Corded and Cordless.
Corded ScannersCorded Bar Code Scanners remain connected to a workstation, sharing the keyboard port. Contact Compulink Sales for information about the hand-held scanner options we offer. Lightweight, durable, laser bar code scanners may be used to scan individual bar codes or patient chart labels that are brought to the workstation. Cordless ScannersCordless Bar Codes Scanners are used with the inventory audit function to scan inventory where it is displayed rather than at the workstation. Contact Compulink Sales for information about our wireless scanners. One type of wireless scanner sends a bar code to a PC through a base station hook up. Like the corded scanner, you use these scanners to scan individual bar codes but you may move about the office with them. We also offer Memory scanners, designed to collect data for up to 12 hours. You can audit an entire inventory using this scanner and then download all information into the Advantage software. This scanner may also be used in "tethered" or stationary mode
All above peripherals have been fully tested and are compatible with Compulink Advantage Software. Other peripherals can also be used but their functionality within the Advantage software cannot be guaranteed. |
