How to set up Auto Diagnostics (Server 2008) Prior to setting up the diagnostics, Compulink recommends that the close file option is scheduled for 30 minutes prior to the backup and auto diagnostics is set up for 60 minutes after the backup. In the Actions Pane, click Create Basic Task. Name you task and click Next
Choose how often you'd like to schedule the task
Choose the time of your task
Choose Start a program for your action
Find the path to the product folder. Add the "AUTODIAG" with the space after the path and quotation marks as shown. (e.g. X:\eyemd\eyemd.exe "AUTODIAG")
Choose YES at this screen to add the argument.
Check the "Open the Properties .." and click finish.
Be sure and "Run only when the user is logged on" option. The task will not launch if you choose any other options or if you log off. The station must be lock and not logged off.
Depending on the time you chose to run your diagnostics, be sure and Stop the task prior to the opening of the office.
Note: "Checking Unique Values" should be the last entry in the autodiag.log or diag.log file located in the product folder. If the last item is not "Checking Unique Values" or packing a few files after this task, the autodiag task is not completing. Check to make sure no other application is starting during the diagnostic such as your back up or run a manual to see if you have any missing indexes or corrupted databases that may need special attention. Server 2008 issues: The only known issue with server 2008 is choosing the option “Run whether user is logged on or not”. No application launches properly if you choose this option. You have to choose “Run only when user is logged on”. With this option, you have to lock the server and not log off. |
